Family App

Terms of Service

Public terms for Family App and its Google Calendar integration.

Effective date: September 6, 2026

Use of Family App

Family App is a private, self-hosted household coordination app. By using the app, you agree to use it only for lawful household, family, caregiving, and home coordination purposes.

Accounts and Access

Access is limited to users invited or approved by the household administrator. Users are responsible for keeping passwords, passkeys, recovery methods, and devices secure. The household administrator may create, update, disable, or remove local accounts and profile access.

Household Data

Users are responsible for the information they add to Family App, including tasks, lists, notes, calendar events, member profiles, and household records. Users should not add information they do not have permission to store or share with the household.

Google Calendar Sync

Google Calendar sync is optional. A household administrator may connect a Google account, choose which Google calendars are mapped to Family App calendars, assign synced events to profiles, and choose whether a calendar is read-only or eligible for two-way sync.

Changes made in Family App may be written back to Google Calendar only where two-way sync is enabled. Users should review calendar mapping settings before creating, updating, or deleting events.

Acceptable Use

Users must not attempt to bypass authentication, access another household's information, misuse Google APIs, interfere with the server, upload malicious content, or use Family App for unlawful or harmful purposes.

Availability and Backups

Family App depends on the household's own server, router, internet connection, database, Docker services, and connected third party APIs. Availability is not guaranteed. The household administrator is responsible for backups, updates, network security, and recovery planning.

No Professional Advice

Family App may organize family, school, home maintenance, travel, food, budget, health-related, or other household information. The app does not provide medical, legal, financial, safety, or professional advice.

Termination

A household administrator may disable access for any local user or disconnect external integrations at any time. Users may stop using the app by signing out and asking the household administrator to remove their local account or profile data.

Changes

These terms may be updated when Family App's features, integrations, or operating environment changes. Continued use of the app after an update means the user accepts the updated terms.
